Mexican Kitchen Experience
Have you ever been inside a real Mexican kitchen? Have you ever seen how Mexican mothers and grandmothers create everyday food? If you’re lucky enough to have seen this magic in action, then you might notice one major difference with your own kitchen: there is no recipe book. In Mazatlan fish and seafood are part of daily diet and fish-based dishes are prepared by heart. This knowledge is passed on from generation to generation.
The Mexican Kitchen experience offers you the opportunity to get involved in making 4 authentic local dishes from scratch. At this shop-and-cook experience you will discover the fresh ingredients that are the base (often a closely guarded secret) and find out where to buy them at the market. Flavor Teller introduces you to the kitchen of mrs. Yolanda of Tostadas El Tigre, one of the most popular food stands at the Pino Suarez market. This ground-floor kitchen is jam-packed with hungry Mexicans from Monday through Saturday, but on Sundays (her only day off) you'll have the honor of helping mrs. Yolanda create traditional local dishes and savour them too. Fasten your aprons - Mrs. Yolanda works quickly and is only too delighted to get you chopping, squeezing, peeling and tasting - you'll have an authentic Mexican shop-and-cook experience in the heart of Mazatan's busiest market. Duration: 2-3 hours When: Sundays from 10.00am - 1.00pm Price: $65USD per person Includes: Recipe sheet and Flavor Teller apron Group size: 4-6 people Location: Pino Suarez market, downtown Mazatlan Meeting point: Plazuela Machado Free cancellation: cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund Good for:
